Adult Sexual Abuse Policy

Introduction

Media.com is committed to protecting network users against adult sexual abuse and the sharing of non-consensual intimate imagery. We recognize the profound impact and violation of privacy and dignity this represents, and will take action where we feel necessary to protect the safety of our users.

Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following conduct is prohibited on Media.com:

  • sharing or posting intimate photos or videos taken or distributed without the subject's informed consent;
  • posting, uploading, sharing or otherwise distributing any form of sexual abuse content, including hidden camera content featuring nudity or sexual acts, upskirt images, and non-consensually superimposed images;
  • posting, uploading, sharing or otherwise distributing content that is photographed, recorded or filmed in breach of any local or federal law;  
  • offering rewards, financial incentives or non-financial incentives in exchange for intimate images or videos; and,
  • any conduct that might constitute blackmail or a form of blackmail relating to content of a sexual nature.

Exceptions

Media.com, at our sole discretion, may allow users to publish:

  •  consensually produced non-pornographic, adult content marked as sensitive; and/or, 
  •  content shared for educational, documentary, or denunciatory purposes that contains appropriate context and sensitivity measures.

Content Flagging

Users can flag content on Media.com they believe to be in violation of this policy via our reporting tool.

Enforcement

When Media.com, at our sole discretion, considers there to be a breach of this policy by user(s) we may:

  • warn the user(s) who published the offending content;
  • temporarily suspend the account of the user(s) who published the offending content; 
  • permanently block the account of the user(s) who published the offending content; and/or,
  • take proactive measures to prevent or reduce the likelihood of distribution or redistribution of the content.

Appeals

Media.com provides users who have been flagged under this policy with a right to appeal account suspension or blocking decisions. Appeals may be allowed in circumstances where content was mistakenly removed or accounts wrongly suspended or blocked. Appeals will be allowed in exceptional circumstances only.

Transparent Communications

When Media.com decides to take action  of user-generated content,  we inform the user(s) about the process and its outcome. We aim to notify users promptly and with accurate information to help guide future content publishing decisions.

Law Enforcement

Media.com is committed to user safety and privacy. We work closely with law enforcement and online safety organizations to address and prevent sexual abuse and non-consensual nudity. Our aim is to foster a secure and respectful online environment where users can engage freely without the fear of exploitation or privacy violations.


If Media.com, in its sole discretion, considers content posted on its network to be in violation of any laws, we may share information relating to the offending content with relevant law enforcement agencies in line with our Law Enforcement Liaison Policy.
